Course Information and Directory
- Accelerate teacher assigned to student
- Teachergrades work, provides feedback and answers student content questions via canvas message and/or zoom

Drop Policy
- Up until Day 2: Student may drop with no grade penalty
- Day 3-5: Student will receive a Won transcript
- Day 6 or after: Student will receive a Fon transcript

High School Level Coursework:
- Grades 7-8 during 2023-2024 school year
Middle School Level Coursework:
- Grades 5-8 during 2023-2024 school year
Elementary Level Coursework
- Grade 5 during 2023-2024 school year
Final Grade
- Students will earn a letter grade for their course (A-F).
- High School Level Courses: Final course grade will be placed on the student’s high school transcript and count towards their middle school academic record.
- Elementary or Middle School Level Courses: Final course grade will count towards the student's elementary academic record or middle school academic record.
- If a student is taking a course for grade improvement, the highest letter grade will count towards the student's GPA. Both letter grades will appear on a student's transcripts.
Important Note:If a student fails an Online course and/or consistently fails to follow Online Learning policies they will be unable to enroll in future online courses with ISD Online Learning.
Reasons
Students take Online Learning for several reasons. Please make sure to meet with your counselor to discuss if Online Learning is a good fit and the reason why you want to take this course.
- Acceleration: Student is looking to advance their math or science pathway through high school or middle school course work. Coursework can only be taken when offered at their current grade level.
- Examples:
- Students can take Biology or Geometry online in 8th grade (school year 23-24) or higher.
- Biology and Geometry are not offered to 6th or 7th graders in building.
- Students in 5th grade or in Math 1 in 6th grade, who are registering for Math 2/3 for the 24-25 school year can take Math 7A online. This will help prepare students for Math 2/3.
- Students can take Biology or Geometry online in 8th grade (school year 23-24) or higher.
- Examples:
- Course Not Offered:Course isn't offered at your school during the school year.
- Support Class: Student is retaking a course or is addressing missed learning in a course they have previously taken.
- Examples: Students in 5th grade who received a 1 or 2 in Math or ELA or 6th-8th graders who want to retake the second semester of their current Math or ELA course to be better prepared for next year.
- Enrichment: Student is taking a course of interest.
Refund Policy
- Before startingthe course: Drop witha refund minus processing fee($385)
- Day 1 - Day 5: Drop with partial refund ($285)
- Day 6 & Beyond: No refund
Days include weekends and holidays. If payment is not received by due date, student will be dropped from course and ineligible to take the class for summer school.
Registration and Application
Student Orientation
- Students are expected to complete one (1)of the required student orientations via Zoom
- Monday, June 17 at 6pm
- Tuesday, June 18 at 6pm
- Thursday, June 20 at 7pm
- The Zoom orientation link will be shared in the Welcome Letter sent out to student's ISD email address and parent/guardian email by Thursday, June 13.
- Students will be dropped on Friday, June 21 if they do not attend one of the sessions above. Attendance is tracked by students completing and submitting the survey at the end of the orientation. If a student is dropped, refund policies will be followed.
Testing
High School Level Courses Only:
In Person Unit Tests and Semester Exam:
- Location: ISD Administration Building (5150 220th Ave SE, Issaquah, WA 98029)
- Days and Times:
- Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
- 10am-11am
- 11:30am-12:30pm
- Tuesdays and Thursdays
- 4:30pm-5:30pm
- 6pm-7pm
- Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
- Testing will begin on Thursday, June 20.
- There is no testing on Thursday, July 4.
*There will be no alternative testing times. Online PE and electives do not have in person testing requirements.
testing requirements
- Please beon timeto the in person testing session. We will be unable to let you in if you arrive late.
- Please bringschool district laptop with charger,along with any supplies you need to take your tests.
- Students must complete and submit all work in a unit before taking an in person test. Students cannot proceed on to the next unit without taking the unit test first.
- All testing must be completed in one session.
- Student desks will be clear of all papers, notebooks, backpacks, etc.
- If a student brings a cell phone to the testing session, they will be instructed to have the cell phone put in airplane mode, off and/or silenced during the duration of the test. Cell phones will be face down at the top of the desk.
- No additional electronics.
- No notes/books/resources.
- Math: students may use a graphing or scientific calculator, whiteboard and marker. The testing room will provide whiteboards and markers.
Testing Retake Policy
Students are eligible to retake a unit test (s) if they scored below an 80%. This includes any module/unit test, not the semester exam. Please see below for process:
- One retake attempt per unit test is allowed.
- Students need to retake their test prior to taking their next unit test. Once they take their next unit test they are unable to go back and previously retake the prior unit test.
- Students are required to meet with their Accelerate teacher to go through their exam via Zoom. It is the student's responsibility to schedule a meeting with their Accelerate teacher. Accelerate teachers have a booking link on Canvas. Students could also email and/or message their teacher via Canvas to set up a time.
- After the student's meeting with their Accelerate teacher, the student will sign up to retake their test during any of the designated testing sessions.
- Students can earn up to an 80%, even if they score between an 80.1-100, on their retake.
- *The score on the retake will be entered into student's gradebook on Canvas.
*If the first attempt for the unit testwas higher than the retake, the retake score will be the final grade for that unit test.
Elementary and Middle School Level Courses:
There is no in person or remote testing for elementary or middle school level courses.

- Some courses require textbooks and/or lab kits. Student/family is responsible for obtaining and purchasing course materials.Please check out our Required Textbook/Material Listto determine if purchasing/obtainingmaterials will be required.
