Can you freeze Turnovers, How do you store them?

I love this question. As a food blogger, I’m always trying recipes, and I am inclined to those recipes that you can easily make ahead of time to save time in the kitchen. I can certainly say this is one of those. Turnovers can be made ahead of time and to answer this question, Yes, you can freeze them. There are two ways to do this. You can freeze the turnovers uncooked or after you bake them. If you decided to prepare the turnovers and freeze them uncooked, I suggest storing them in a freezer-safe container. This will maintain the turnover’s freshness until is time to bake. There’s no need to thaw the turnovers before placing them in the oven. You might have to add a few extra minutes of baking time. You can also bake the turnovers, let them cool down and avoid icing them. Just cover them individually with plastic wrapping paper and place them in a freezer bag or airtight food storage container.

How long does Apple Turnovers last?

It depends on how you store them. Make sure you follow the safety ways to maintain the freshness of the pastry so they don’t turn soggy and bad. Turnovers can last up to a month in the freezer. If you are keeping the turnovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 to 5 days. Just always remember to follow the appropriate ways of storing them!

How do you reheat Turnovers?

To reheat turnovers is very simple. I use two ways of reheating turnovers. If using a microwave, I like to place a damp paper towel over the pastry. Place it in the microwave on high for 20-25 seconds and no more than that to prevent the turnover to be soggy. I use this way of reheating when time is limited. However, I like to reheat the turnovers in the oven as they preserve the crispy texture living no room for sogginess.
