Sonny is now back front and center, reigning supreme as the Don of Port Charles.
After months of dealing with tampered meds and practically the entire city turning on him, everything turned out fine for the mobster.
A reunion with his best friend Jason also occurred, while his son Michael forgave him for past misdeeds.
How long will this last? Is Sonny indestructible?
Or will we eventually see the Sonny Swan Song soon?

R2 End of September/early October, but this is speculation based on Sam being offed soon, casting winding down for Lulu. Lulu waking up is supposed to be one of their big fall storylines.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | September 8, 2024 2:23 PM |
It seems to me that the older stalwarts in the cast are happy to just wait it out, hoping to retire before the show is cancelled. Then they can make side money of their loyal (albeit small and aging) fan base via shilling for junk products and conventions.
Has there been a Monica sighting? I recall Charleson had been ill for some time, but is she still active in Port Charles? Or has she been relegated to playing Gin Rummy with Audrey in the Quartermaine attic?

I'm just curious: Has Jonathan Jackson's return brought back the viewers? Is GH over 2 million again? Did Jonathan and his sweet deal contract save the show?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 8, 2024 2:40 PM |
R5 Agreed. At this point it's uncertain if they'll even make it to a streaming service.
Monica is still M.I.A. Definitely playing Gin Rummy in the attic with Audrey 😁😁
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 8, 2024 2:45 PM |
R6 Thanks 😆😆
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 8, 2024 2:47 PM |
R7 Absolutely not. Ratings actually took a slight dip during his first full week back, August 26th-30th, down to 1,910,000, which were 45,000 viewers less than the previous week. Steve nor Jonathan aren't capable of enough of bringing back "lapsed viewers."

*Steve nor Jonathan are capable enough of bringing back lapsed viewers at R10
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 8, 2024 2:59 PM |
Sonny's murdered people on the show before, but this one seems particularly cold blooded with little justification.
It's a soap and they can redeem anything, but this seems this time like there may be more behind the scenes going on with MB maybe wanting to retire. Earlier this year he had to take a mental health break. Maybe they've worked out an exit plan? ABC mandated no rapists on the show and I don't see how they are going to now allow an onscreen murder to go unpunished.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 8, 2024 4:47 PM |
R12 Its interesting that his breakdown occured four to five months after his hold over Sonny lessened. As big of a control freak as he is, he'd probably rather leave instead of not having as much influence over Sonny and his family members as he used to.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 8, 2024 5:35 PM |
R13, from your mouth to God's ears. He has made this show horrible for much too long.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 8, 2024 5:39 PM |
I am so tired of Maurice Benard and his nonsense. You know every person at Prospect Studios is too.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 8, 2024 5:39 PM |
Sonny's murder in cold blood of Jagger, in a sane world, would require him to be punished. The fact that Jagger was coming after his family is irrelevant. People cannot simply take the law into their own hands. Is this what ABC is promoting? Vigilante justice? In what universe is Sonny a hero? He's not even an anti-hero! He's merely a thug who happens to be loyal to his loved ones. Being loyal to your loved ones does not make you a hero. The fact that ABC put the kibosh on rapists is great, but meanwhile they are glorifying a murderer? Just think how insulting that is to any family that has had a family member murdered. And then there's the terrible message it sends about our values as a nation.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 8, 2024 5:40 PM |
Call me cynical but maybe his "breakdown" is to lay the groundwork for a lawsuit if they do backburner him or try to fire his useless ass.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 8, 2024 5:42 PM |
I still love the "Maurice is Celeste Talbert" concept and I really wish I knew Photoshop well enough to paste Maurice's face into that turban......

by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 9, 2024 3:36 PM |
They just keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
They should at least try a new EP before cancelling.
However, The Gates may confirm the need for cancellation regardless of new EP or not.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 9, 2024 3:45 PM |
R33 Your intuition aligns with speculation that ABC/Disney is thisclose to turning the page, before the 65th anniversary, though unconfirmed.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | September 9, 2024 4:20 PM |
R34 Exactly. As mentioned many times before, Frank, the writers and the actors are essentially performing for themselves, instead of catering to the general audience. The fraus seem to be the only ones satisfied with the show constantly repeating their same cycles.
A different EP would be ideal, but Frank has nine lives.
Agreed. Especially with their benefit to rely on Y&R/B&B's audience, combined with an overall excitement regarding a new daytime soap, gaining viewers from not only other soaps but also newer viewers to daytime, they'll easily be able to at least secure third place in the ratings, with GH sliding to fourth.
GH needs some sort of miracle.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 9, 2024 4:29 PM |
Since we're launching a new soap that will be airing in the same timeslot as GH in many markets, we hope so too r33
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 9, 2024 4:34 PM |
Fire fucking Frank Valentini. Hundreds of jobs should not be on the line because of his ineptness. Many others can do his job at a lesser salary. And yes, there are others who can manage a soap opera budget.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 9, 2024 4:34 PM |
R37 Would you be open to buying GH from ABC, CBS? You'll then own two of your soaps directly, without the partnership with Sony.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 9, 2024 4:39 PM |
R38 Nathan refuses to recommend Frank's firing, since they're so close. Same goes for his relationship with Korte as well. Although, if they were to take Nathan away from supervising GH, as they have before, Frank might not be so lucky. Firing writers and actors isn't solving the main problem.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | September 9, 2024 4:42 PM |
I really want The Gates to work because of Michele Val Jean, but I'm not convinced that it will unless they've found ways to make the budget sensible. Shooting in Atlanta will help, but I just don't think soap fans are going to embrace a majority-minority soap.
If even half the stories about GH behind the scenes are true, that is one fucked up set. And it can't be good for morale if they're throwing money and perks at two returning male leads while firing other people and lowering guarantees. Wasn't the only actor proven to bring back audience, Vanessa Marcil?
by Anonymous | reply 41 | September 9, 2024 4:52 PM |
The Gates will fail. They’d be lucky to match the numbers of The Talk, in repeats. A new soap opera, especially a black one, will not be welcomed. #truth

[quote] Wasn't the only actor proven to bring back audience, Vanessa Marcil?
That's how I remember it but even that is probably no longer the case.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | September 9, 2024 5:34 PM |
Vanessa Marcil might bring back some of the audience. The problem is that she’s tied to Mo and he’s a dead end. Stuart Damon, Jackie Zeman and countless others were sidelined once they hit 50 and they handled it more gracefully than he ever can. One man should not be holding a 60 something year old show hostage.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | September 9, 2024 5:46 PM |
I wish I could have been a fly on the wall in the meeting where someone said, "Jonathan Jackson will bring back the audience."
by Anonymous | reply 45 | September 9, 2024 6:15 PM |
Vanessa Marcil brought in big ratings back in 2002, then again in 2010 but that latter return was widely panned, except for the Sonny/Brenda wedding, which proved to be a gigantic event for the fans. The return in 2013 was big but also centered around the 50th/renewed interest in the show from Frank and Ron. She might be able to get them back over 2 million, except Korte apparently isn't interested; although she's not in charge of hiring/firing, her besties Frank and Nathan are it's pretty much a longshot

He may have that shower in his dressing room but he hasn't made use of it yet.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | September 9, 2024 6:58 PM |
I think The Gates will do fine. Part of the ongoing success of CBS daytime is that their core audience doesn't change the channel. Starts with the Price is Right, and stays on through local news, Y&R and B&B (in most markets). The Talk wasn't holding them, but an additional soap might. It will, however, probably seal GH's fate. ABC should've been prepping for their transition to Hulu as soon as NBC sent DAYS to Peacock.

Michael Easton, actually, smells quite nice. A very fresh scent.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | September 9, 2024 7:52 PM |
I'm surprised Steve is able to do that Daily Soaps "podcast" with Bradford. There have been a couple of occasions where they haven't been too kind about storyline turns. And have hinted things are a mess behind the scenes. I would though that Frank in his best Queen of Hearts gown would yell "Off with their heads!"

Eric Braedon is 83, that's 22 years older than sputtering Mo and has had cancer.
Yet the 83-year-old can deliver his lines, even if they are on cue cards, smoothly. 61-year-old Mo who can't even repeat what is being fed into his ear or shown to him on cue cards without sputtering and looking like a deer caught in the headlines when he forgets where he's at in the conversation.
Also, that Melody person who plays Eric's wife doesn't look as matronly at 68 as Snarly does at 53.
Mo has held this show hostage with his massive ego and "mental health" problems for years. They cut Tyler and Billy loose due to their issues, why can't they shit can albatross Mo with all his issues? Seems to me it would be easy and justified to have a "storyline dictated" killing of his character who is a criminal.

by Anonymous | reply 81 | September 10, 2024 7:45 PM |
This could be good. Havins had an unenviable task on AMC since most people hated both Krystal and Babe and the baby swap story didn't help.
She's decent, for sure. I'd rather watch her than tepid Stephanie Gaschet or the far-too-smiley-for-Lulu Emme Rylan.

[Quote]GH Nabs AMC Alum Alexa Havins To Play Lulu
I'm not mad at it. I like Havins.
I am, however, annoyed at bringing back old characters with new actors. Just create a new character. It's like all these movie/tv remakes; just create a new entity.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | September 10, 2024 8:01 PM |
I fast forward the scenes with Lucky in the prison or wherever he is. I don't even know what is going on with that storyline and don't care.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | September 10, 2024 8:08 PM |
I love TJ and Molly as a do-gooder duo railing against a town full of malefactors. But I wish their scenes were directed with more physical interplay. They present more like college roommates than a loving couple.
I don't really care about Lulu anymore, but with Havins in the role, I wish she'd wake up as Babe and suggest a three-way with Dante and Michael.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | September 10, 2024 8:36 PM |
The ideal person to play Lulu is Julie Berman. But she's apparently not interested. Or at least Frank hasn't met her price yet -- maybe if Frank threw in a dressing room with a shower and finding a different dressing room of JJ who obviously isn't using the shower in his room
Of all the potential recasts mentioned for Lulu, I would say Alexa Havens is the best choice.
Yes, AMC turned into the Babe Carey Show there for a while (just like it became the Ryan Lavery Show for a while when Matheson debuted), but Alexa was quite good as Babe. There was a warmth about her that I liked.
I look forward to seeing what Alexa does with Lulu.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | September 10, 2024 8:36 PM |
R81. Didn't Justin play MEK's son Jamie on AMC? If so, you KNOW that's going to happen. Frank will think that's a great ploy to bring in viewers!

by Anonymous | reply 96 | September 10, 2024 10:12 PM |
R82 Right Krystal and Babe weren't exactly welcomed for awhile; Frons, of course, loved both of them; he had a favorite blonde on every ABC/Disney soap- Erin Hershey-Presley (Allison, PC); Alexa Havins (Babe, AMC); Jessica Morris (Jennifer, OLTL) and Alicia Leigh Willis (Courtney, GH) outside of his biggest crushes- Kelly Monaco and Rebecca Budig.
Stephanie Gatschet, you weren't receptive to her as Lulu?
by Anonymous | reply 97 | September 10, 2024 10:17 PM |
R83 Yeah sometimes too many recasts can spoil the character. Emme Rylan would've been your preferred choice?
by Anonymous | reply 98 | September 10, 2024 10:19 PM |
R85 Only issue with that is Michael's her cousin 😊
by Anonymous | reply 99 | September 10, 2024 10:20 PM |
R86 You're absolutely correct about Julie Marie Berman; she wasn't interested and the price wasn't right enough for her to return. Not saying she's in need of money, seeing how she's happily married to a successful guy.
This round, it was down to three different actresses, Jennifer Landon, Alexa Havins and a third actress, unnamed, possibly from OLTL. Jennifer Landon, being Michael Landon's daughter would've been somewhat of a get in Frank's eyes, but she apparently turned them down. Alexa was pretty much next in line.
by Anonymous | reply 100 | September 10, 2024 10:27 PM |
R87 Not R81 but yes, they were father and son. They were going to do a rewrite where Jacob Young's J.R. Chandler would've actually been Tad and Dixie's son, instead of Adam's, making J.R. and Jamie actual brothers, however that was shut down. It's interesting that Jacob and Alexa both now have the distinction of playing Luke and Laura's kids (even though Young was on GH before AMC)

Adam Huss was on Mo's show Sunday. Why does Adam have to kiss the ring? He's not on contract.
Mo assumed Adam Harrington was his guest as his wife just told him "Adam", so he did research on Harrington and was surprised when Huss showed up.
Adam mentioned his husband within 30 seconds so I kept watching. I won't link as I don't want to give egomaniac Mo too many clicks.
Adam talked about his Italian cop father hitting him as a kid and Mo talked about his dad hitting him as a kid.
Mo mentioned AGAIN that he yelled at and scared his co-stars. AGAIN no apology or remorse. And he must have a shit therapist because his therapist told him he was hurting himself by yelling at co-workers and that's what they worked on. Or maybe his therapist did tell him he was being abusive to co-stars but he didn't mention that part.
Adam attends a support group for co-dependency twice a week.
Adam met Marcus Coloma as they overlapped while taping and he said Marcus was "kind".
Adam spoke on the phone with Tyler Christopher a few months before he died as they had a mutual acquaintance journalist Markos Papadatos.
They discussed Adam's sexuality at the end. He had a girlfriend named Jessica in high school he was in love with, his husband Adam also had a girlfriend named Jessica. He didn't come out until after college when he came to Los Angeles at age 24. He said he's not promiscuous and believes in monogamy. His husband had never been with a man before him and turned him down the first time he asked him out telling him he wasn't gay. They met doing a play together.
Mo said he's been wanting to have a deep conversation about sexuality and started to with the "white haired guy from Y&R" but didn't get too deep. He couldn't remember the name of "white haired guy from Y&R who has won several Emmys". Adam asked him if he meant "Greg Rikkart", Mo said no. Obviously he was referring to Christian LeBlanc. Mo also said he "experimented" with boys when he was nine years old and isn't embarrassed to admit it.
Mo said GH is doing great and Sonny has only killed 3 or 4 guys in his entire 31 years. Mo also had a good laugh over having killed AJ. Didn't seem concerned with job security or being written out much to my dismay.

R105 Julie was their preference too. Sometimes shows are a little overconfident when it comes to believing they'd be able to convince the original actor to return, so they'll plan everything around that notion. Other times it's pretty obvious they'll have to find a replacement. Either that, such as with NAC, they just don't recast.
by Anonymous | reply 112 | September 11, 2024 4:10 AM |
R106 No doubt that she will. Unlike Tony Geary, Genie wasn't cold to recasts when it came to their children. Jonathan is her preference for Lucky, but had he not returned, Greg Vaughan was next up. She asked if she could have all Laura's children back on canvas, knowing it was a strong possibility that Julie Marie would say no.

R109 The billboards aren't exactly moving the needle.
There is a such thing as breach of contractual confidentiality, except they can't exactly prove that it was her who told the media. It's obvious she confided in her circle, but others, such as writers, knew she was going to be offed too. Plus she probably wasn't thinking about any of that, since she was upset over being fired.
by Anonymous | reply 115 | September 11, 2024 4:26 AM |
R111 Adam Huss wants back in at GH, on a full-time basis. Frank has his no temps as permanent rule, but he'd like to be the exception, so kissing Mo's ring, so to speak, could be a way to make certain they stay on good terms, if he ever gets back on, even if it's only recurring.
I'm glad that you mentioned Mo experimenting with boys when he was nine years old, along with him not being ashamed to admit it. As an adult, not so sure that attraction ever went away. When GH hired Richard Steinmetz to play Joe Scully Jr., back in 2012, Mo was initially a little overly excited. There's a scene between just the two of them, with Sonny holding a gun on Joe in a warehouse, where Mo, in slacks, actually appears to be physically excited as well.

Michael Fairman's "Live" with Jacqueline Grace Lopez aka "Blaze".
I don't know what to make of her. She does seem a bit much.
She said she wasn't personally notified that she was being written out, she read it in the script. She did email FV to confirm she was understanding the script correctly and that she was being written out. It was later explained to her that it was storyline dictated as they needed Kristina to "spiral" without the support of a partner.
FV needs to rethink including recurring characters in cast photo shoots and the opening montage as JGL seems to have been very confused by being included in the photos and then written out.
The hair and makeup department gave her a little goodbye with cards, cake, etc. She mentioned running lines with Kate Mansi and gushed about what a wonderful person Amanda Setton is.
When Eva LaRue got cast as her mother, Evan Hofer teased her with "oh so you get a mother now too". She is happy to have been the one to usher in a Latino family. She kept referring to herself as a "glorified day player" but then also referred to herself as a "guest star".
Much ado about nothing regarding a minor character in my opinion.

Are they heading towards a Molly and TJ breakup with a future Molly and Dex pairing?
Who would they pair TJ with?
Or is Molly going to help Dex reconnect with his family?
Tracy and Sasha clashing? I stand by my prediction Sasha will turn out to be Tracy's daughter she gave up for adoption. If nothing else, the plot line would relieve Sasha of her "Chef" duties as I doubt Tracy would want her daughter working as the family drudge.
by Anonymous | reply 163 | September 15, 2024 3:25 PM |
R163 It sure looks like a Molly/Dex pairing is on the way. Not sure what they'll do with TJ; bringing in another female for a triangle with Isaiah would be interesting, except Isaiah is slated for Ava and/or Jordan.
Sasha as Tracy's daughter is a good idea, but they probably won't go there, since they'd have to reference Sasha previously sleeping with Michael, who would be her cousin. GL did it with first cousins Tammy and Jonathan so I guess it's possible but still a little icky lol

by Anonymous | reply 165 | September 15, 2024 3:43 PM |
R161 that's worrying. And with the new soap coming on at the same time... Oh well, cancellation is the only way to get rid of Mo.
by Anonymous | reply 166 | September 15, 2024 4:04 PM |
R166 Mo is apparently contemplating retirement; the combination of not having as much creative control as he did before and his breakdown took a toll on him. Although he's played this card before, it's known that if Vanessa Marcil returns, it'll be brief to usher Mo out, at his request (Korte isn't interested in VM returning full-time, which shouldn't be her decision, but Frank and Varni, her besties, let her have her way). As someone already dropped here, a major male actor is soon. Other guesses are Tristan Rogers and Chad Duell.
by Anonymous | reply 167 | September 15, 2024 4:28 PM |

*A major male actor is out soon at R167 R168
by Anonymous | reply 169 | September 15, 2024 4:30 PM |
Tristan being recurring and Chad not exactly considered "major" is why many are guessing it's Mo who's out.
by Anonymous | reply 170 | September 15, 2024 4:32 PM |
R167 I just came back to GH to see Rick Hearst.
How recent was Mo's breakdown? I thought bipolar tended to improve with advancing age - but I just Googled it and damn, it seems to get progressively worse! And also:
Cognitive decline: BD can contribute to cognitive decline, including reduced working memory, executive function, and attention.
by Anonymous | reply 171 | September 15, 2024 4:35 PM |
R171 Mo's breakdown happened around four months ago; what seemingly led up to it was his lack of control in regards to Sonny, being removed from the writer's room, Patrick Mulcahey's hiring, the Sonny town pariah/ pill switched storyline, culminating with his wife and son going on vacation out of the country, leaving him virtually home alone.
Cognitive decline isn't good at all, but especially not while working on a soap. He seems happiest when he's doing State Of Mind or making personal appearances. Sometimes his son goes along with him to those PA's.
by Anonymous | reply 172 | September 15, 2024 4:47 PM |
Doesn't Chad have a new "oops" baby to provide for? His limited acting range and lack of work outside of GH would suggest we are stuck with him.
Although now recurring, Tristan was at one time "major" so it could be him. He seems very tired and should probably retire.
Mo's massive ego precludes voluntary retirement.
Mo announced on X his son will be performing at all of his future public appearances.
Varni, Valentini and Korte are like the Keystone Cops, incompetent.
by Anonymous | reply 173 | September 15, 2024 4:49 PM |
With Val Jean and Guza at The Gates, I'm sure Mo has been lobbying for a job there. He'll be the patriarch of one of the core families.
by Anonymous | reply 174 | September 15, 2024 4:50 PM |
R173 Oops baby haha that's correct but admittedly he's bored with playing Michael. Possibly considering testing the waters at another soap?
Tristan was absolutely major in his heyday so that's why there are some who believe he's approaching retirement, with a happily ever after exit with Holly.
Mo's known to do this to drum up attention so it might not occur, at least not yet.
Keystone cops 🤣

R178 On more than one occasion 😁 the network kept Tristan there, but Frank made a point to reduce his airtime
by Anonymous | reply 180 | September 15, 2024 5:23 PM |
Tristan said on social media that Wes Ramsey was miscast as Peter August. This led to Robert Scorpio disappearing from canvas for many months. Obviously spiteful Frank put Tristan in the doghouse.
Will Snarly contribute to Tristan's retirement gift or claim she doesn't have any cash on her when some PA comes around collecting?
by Anonymous | reply 181 | September 15, 2024 5:45 PM |
No way is Chad looking for work in his current physical state. He should get back to the gym to keep the job he's got.
Love Tristan, but he's so sparsely played, it wouldn't be a big deal for him to ride off into the sunset.
TJ will end up with Willow, which is what they were teasing 2 years ago.
I hope Molly somehow ends up on team Ava, and helps her get Avery away from Sonny (FINALLY and for good, sheesh).

Someone has to point this out...
...but at some fan event a few months before Billy M.'s death didn't KeMo basically distance herself from Billy and the whole bts mess saying she regretted her participation?
I tried to point it out at the time but was chastised for speaking ill of the dead so soon after his death but I was actually referring to KeMo's behavior and her sudden about face.
Now that she's been sacked she's suddenly Team BM again and going to "tell their story". Is it just a veiled threat to the network so they will rehire her? It may backfire on her.
by Anonymous | reply 183 | September 15, 2024 6:28 PM |
So why would Tracy give up a child for adoption as an adult?
If she had done so as a teenager I could understand that story, but THAT child would need to be the age of, say, Cynthia Watros.
I can't imagine a single scenario where Tracy would give up a child. Maaaaaybe if it was a child she had during that whole mobster/The City storyline and she was hiding the child for safety.
by Anonymous | reply 184 | September 15, 2024 6:40 PM |
^During the mobster era/off-screen at The City could make sense.
It also makes more sense that Tracy's over interest in Cody has more to do with Sasha than with him. Unless she's covering for another Q. Any other Q's that could have birthed Sasha that would further distance her from Michael genetically? Making her a 3rd or 4th cousin instead of 2nd?
Speaking of parentage, have the Keystone Cops in charge at GH decided who Gio's mother or father are? Lois? BlazerLynn? Dante?
by Anonymous | reply 185 | September 15, 2024 6:53 PM |
Over in the Tercel thread, there was a discussion of Eterna...how it was a story that had a beginning, a middle, and a satisfying end. The same could be said of some other OLTL stories. It takes good, imaginative, talented writers. Instead, we get endless teases that go nowhere. Who are Gio's parents? Who killed Austin Gatlin-Holt? It seems they're just making it up day by day, instead of having a master plan.
by Anonymous | reply 186 | September 15, 2024 6:58 PM |
R183 That did take place, with her apologizing to the JaSam fanbase. She also wanted to resume JaSam, upon learning that they were recasting Lulu (last fall/winter, when they were first interested in bringing Lulu back, then again this current year, when they made it clear that Lulu was coming back).
Ppl believing that it was disrespectful to Billy Miller, in regards to Kelly's apology, were taking it out of context, for it was actually in reference to Kelly's behavior, regarding her distancing herself from everything.
It looks like a veiled threat, while it also can be taken as her feeling she has nothing to lose since she was fired. Carmina, her mother, is also still pissed about the firing. Kelly also has her fan base rallying around her as well.
So far there are no plans for the network to reinstate her. She'd have better luck doing another soap at this point, if they're willing to hire her. There's still speculation that both DOOL and Y&R are interested.
by Anonymous | reply 187 | September 15, 2024 7:02 PM |
R184 What's interesting is that Garin Wolf had a big story planned, regarding Tracy's past with Gino Soleito on The City. Sonny, Olivia, Dante, Kate were all going to be involved, including Gino's daughter or granddaughter, Johnny's sister or niece, a new character named Gina Soleito; Ron, however, dropped the story. Ron originally planned to have Britt as Tracy's long lost daughter, with Sabrina as Anna's and Duke's, until changing course in favor of Liesl's and Faison's.

R185 Celia Quartermaine? Someone mentioned here that the actress agreed with fans who thought she bore a resemblance to Sofia.
Gio's parentage still hasn't exactly been established yet, though his parents are now possibly Brook Lynn and Dante. Drew was apparently going to be his father when Mulcahey was hw, yet they moved away from that story.

Were Billy and Kelly fucking or were they just really good friends?

I think Billy Miller was done dirty by GH. Frank did a cast grab because he was in some silly competition with Y&R, gave Billy the outs he wanted, then wholly fucked him over. Could Billy and, I guess, Kelly have acted more professionally? Yes. But professionalism is a two-way street, and Frank set the tone. It's not Steve Burton's fault either; he just took a job.

[quote]Just out of curiosity, are there any Kelly Monaco/Sam fans that are posting here?
I'm neither a fan nor a hater.
Days of Our Lives fired Deidre Fucking Hall and Drake Hogestyn, arguably their two biggest stars when they had to cut the budget. GH fired Genie Francis and sent her away as a drooling mess. Granted, I suspect that Genie can probably be pretty salty behind the scenes and, I bet, was always complaining, but she is this show's 2nd biggest star ever, and didn't Wendy Riche call her fat? This show also sent Denise Alexander packing. This is the same show that gave Alexander one of the biggest salaries ever for a soap actor and top billing to steal her away from Days in the 70s.
I wrote all that to say that, these days, no soap star is bulletproof. When a show is bleeding viewers the way GH is, it affects ad rates, which affects the budget. This, in turn, forces the network to make tough decisions.
While Frank may be a snake and contribute to the dysfunction of that set, somebody with a big salary had to go. Some may say, why not Cameron Matheson or someone else taking up space there? Because Cameron Matheson and others taking up space there didn't get on the wrong side of their immediate supervisor.

Despite being friends, if KeMo takes legal action I bet she uses KStorms as an example of someone with "problems" who has not been fired.
ABC does have the defense that they gave KeMo many, many chances over many years but the "problems" have persisted.
Meanwhile Roger Howarth and Michael Easton graciously and quietly accepted their fates and went away. While zombie, raspy voiced, one note KeMo and nobody Blaze keep bleating.

It wasn't long ago that GH fired two male leads. One went quietly about his business, while the other raised a stink, and filed a lawsuit. One of them is back gainfully employed on the show, while the other has, likely, rendered himself unhireable.
Kelly would be an idiot to sue.

Mo's tweet regarding Kelly "leaving" and LW's response.
Mo's wording is being criticized by Kelly lunatics because she is not "leaving" but was fired and not her choice.
I guess NLG is keeping her mouth shut for a change.
I fail to see the "talent" Mo and LW are referring to regarding Kelly. Unless "sleepy" is considered a talent.
I don't recall Kelly and her mother making such emotional and passionate on-going statements about Billy's death at the time of his death.... Only now that they are going use his situation to serve their own purpose.

Kelly pulled a Coloma?
definition:
A "Coloma" - when a fired soap actor claims "illness" and doesn't show up to film last scenes. A practice made famous by fired mediocre GH actor Marcus Coloma.
by Anonymous | reply 219 | September 16, 2024 5:19 PM |
Apparently it’s not quite that, R219–Kelly’s most recent scenes were filmed after these upcoming Lindsay Hartley scenes, because the show films out of order. Also, we haven’t seen the last of Kelly—I believe she’s filmed more that haven’t aired yet.

R211 Excellent observations
by Anonymous | reply 221 | September 16, 2024 5:43 PM |
R220 Right, these scenes were filmed prior to Kelly's firing. Kelly called off so Frank called in Lindsay Hartley. Kelly then decided to come back to work sooner than Frank anticipated; Frank, already upset with her (and working behind the scenes to have her fired) told her to stay off since they already had Lindsay filming her scenes. Not too long after, that's when Kelly was fired (August 22nd). The show went on break, from August 26th-September 6th. Kelly retuned to work with everyone else week of September 9th, to film her final scenes, although if for some reason she can't complete them, then Lindsay will come back in to film.

Kate was far better as Abilgail on Days than she is as Kristina on GH. She's never felt like a great fit as Kristina.
And since Kristina lost the baby, Kate has just been over the top. All her performances need to be turned down a few degrees.

It’s crazy how Ric’s return was just seamlessly integrated into the show and started improving things immediately—compare that with Jason and Lucky’s clunky reintroductions.
by Anonymous | reply 228 | September 16, 2024 8:34 PM |
I think the secret ingredient we're talking about here is TALENT. Ric and Molly's instant father/daughter chemistry: due to two actors with talent. Kate Mansi missing a huge opportunity to create a multi-layered character in Kristine: insufficient talent to pull it off. However, Lucky's "clunky reintroduction: bad writing (as well as cutbacks to the shampoo budget). As for Mo, LW, SB, and KeMo -- two note actors (was going to say one-note, but I guess they all have two notes) who every day make the actors playing Dante, Ava, Alexis, and Diane look like they were trained at the Royal Shakespeare Company.

This lackluster storyline is what enticed JJ to return after all these years? Seriously?
How did that pitch go?
FV: "We are going to have you in a third world country with day players for weeks. Then low energy Holly shows up. You, Holly and the day players will bicker about issues no cares about. Then AARP member and superhero extraordinaire Jason will swoop in to save you with an assist from Anna Devane and bring you home. The storyline will usher in a love interest for the Deputy Mayor. Ratings will be through the roof. Are you in?"
JJ: "YESSSS. Riveting. Just what I've been holding out for. The viewers will be on the edge of their seats. In addition to a salary equal to that of two fired, long-time actors, can I also have a shower in my dressing room and a car? Yes? I'm in, where do I sign.".

The writers are dumb (I know). If for whatever reason they want to keep Amanda Sutton (yawn) and she refuses to do sex scenes -- then write that into the story. Give her some trauma (crime, medical) that causes her to be psychologically and emotionally unable to have sex. That would be something for her and pretty-boy to sink their teeth into and act.

I feel sorry for Swickard, he's being wasted in this snoozefest with AS. On X, they call her his "Amish wife".
I'm also surprised Swickard hasn't rebelled against the whole thing. But then again, he does have a wife and two small children and a paycheck is a paycheck.
If I recall correctly, he and his wife were producing and starring in movies together a while back. I guess that didn't take off. I think they bought a farm and that's where they live.

They have to kill Sam to cover their asses legally.
If they just replace her with Lindsey Hartley that will give KM more ammunition to claim it was retaliation over the Billy/Steve situation.
I must say "kudos" to ABC for playing the long game with her. They didn't fire her during or immediately after the BM debacle when she was still in sleepy zombie mode. They waited a few years to distance it from BM and make it "storyline driven".
KM trying to make a case for her firing being tied into the BM situation seems far-fetched at this late date. And her lunatic fans screaming for other actors on the show to quit or protest on her behalf are truly insane. Did Kelly quit her job for Billy? No!! All her co-stars need their paycheck and to put their families and obligations first!
Kelly needs to have a word with Ingo and Coloma both in Florida now and ask them how many job offers have come their way from ABC/Disney/Hulu or from the other soaps after their antics, social media badmouthing and lawsuits? Coloma was just antics but still no job offers for him.

R234 Swickard was ready to walk away earlier this year when his contract was up. He was essentially coerced into staying; a steady income is definitely a motivating factor, especially with a wife and kids. A lot of the actors aren't exactly happy, but it pays the bills.
by Anonymous | reply 241 | September 17, 2024 10:52 PM |
R237 That's true about Kelly being replaced by Lindsay, it'll provide more ammunition. Sam's rumored demise by rape/strangulation are also being reconsidered, possibly in the form of a car accident or something less violent.
What also worked in Monaco's favor is that she had executives in her back pocket, post Brian Frons, such as Vickie Dummer, for example, among others. She established relationships with them over the years, so she was able to coast for as long as she could. Craig Erwich and Rob Mills aren't exactly as close to her as the others were, which Frank was fully knowledgeable of, giving him more leeway when it came to having her fired. That's exactly what he did when it came to getting rid of Emme Rylan and William deVry, especially with William, he had to wait until certain executives were working elsewhere before he could get a greenlight to get rid of them. It wasn't exactly personal with Emme, yet it was with William. However, Frank's dislike of William is nowhere near the level of his disdain for Monaco; he's wanted her out since the fallout with Miller.

R238 Expect big things for Nicholas Alexander Chavez. He came to see GH as a bridge to his future; the execs at ABC were pissed that the show didn't do enough to keep him satisfied, wondering why they preferred saddling his character with a baby, which wasn't even his own, instead of grooming him into more of a younger leading man.

R239 Tabyana being besties at work with Jacqueline wasn't lost on Kate; she always seemed more cordial with Tabyana whenever Jackie wasn't around. Kate still isn't following Tabyana back on Instagram, but that'll probably happen soon enough. She is following the new guy who plays Isaiah; some were wondering if Kristina and Isaiah would hook up, but he was for Ava initially, now Jordan. Kristina is still rumored to be involved with Lucky and/or Blaze's brother, Eloi.
by Anonymous | reply 245 | September 17, 2024 11:32 PM |
Kristina with Blaze's brother would be more soapy but then that would require bringing back Blaze to stir up the drama.
What is a respectable amount of time to wait before recasting a "glorified day player"? Is six months sufficient?
Or maybe they could just have Eva LaRue bring the drama and screech about not wanting Kristina with her daughter OR her son.
by Anonymous | reply 246 | September 17, 2024 11:38 PM |
Agreed it would be more soapy if Blaze were onscreen, reminiscent of Chanel being involved with twins Allie and Johnny at DOOL. Only issue with that is GH's penchant for avoiding drama, combined with efforts to appease the audience members that are bothered by homosexuality, aka the frau department, hypersensitivity section.
Six months, however, should be more than enough time to recast a day player 😁

Why exactly does/did Frank have such issues with Will deVry? What did Will do to piss off Frank so much?
I know Will was proving popular with fans, which in turn made Maurice jealous. But why would Frank care about that?
by Anonymous | reply 248 | September 18, 2024 1:15 AM |
R248 William would stand up for certain actors, like Tamara Braun, against Frank; though not as contentious as with Billy Miller with Kelly, William would make his opinion known. He'd also speak about storyline info and certain behind the scenes issues with fans, which didn't sit well with Frank. Other instances were sending pictures of himself jokingly to Frank on more than one occasion; the combination of being a goofball and also willing to stand up against Frank irritated him, so he wanted William out. The executives loved him, along with many of the fans, which kept him employed, before Frank was given permission to fire him by different executives.
by Anonymous | reply 249 | September 18, 2024 1:28 AM |
In regards to discussing storyline information with fans at R249, I should say that it wasn't necessarily giving away spoilers, he'd just explain why Julian was with Kim, because Billy Miller was salty about the storyline, etc.
by Anonymous | reply 250 | September 18, 2024 1:39 AM |
Another thing to add is that Frank's dislike of William occurred before Tamara Braun portrayed Kim; just using her as an example. Frank has never really helped with Nancy Lee Grahn and vice versa; William used to stand up for her and their coupling as well, which Frank initially used Alexis to build a popular pairing with Julian, until he was no longer enthralled with William. The network, the fans and then head writers Jean & Shelly, all loved Julian snd Alexis. Frank was determined to make them unpopular when he instructed Jean to have Julian try killing Alexis, hoping to get him off the show then, yet it didn't work.

R253 That's true. She's always had someone higher up looking out for her, even when it was the majority who wanted her out. Sam will die a hero.
Saving her mother by finding the gun AND by giving LuLuBabe her liver.
Sneaky, clever Frank. Giving a nod to the character's history by killing her off the same way she came on the show as a diver. Then making her a hero in the exit storyline so KeMo can't complain in her inevitable lawsuit that he trashed her character.

Kristen Alderson and some of OLTL cast at Eddie Alderson's wedding.
James DePaiva looks good. Too bad GH wasted him on that creepy doctor, he could have been a good long term character. I wonder if there was an issue with James that had them turn his character dark or was he always intended to be short-term?

R276 Robin is doing as best as she can. She did not attend the Santa Barbara reunion event; she's also now retired from acting.
by Anonymous | reply 329 | September 22, 2024 5:15 PM |
R283 She has health issues, however she's doing better. She had both knee and hip replacement herself; before Alley Mills was cast, Robin likely would've returned, short-term, if not for her ailments. Chris Van Etten was inspired by an episode of Grey's Anatomy to write Heather's cobalt poisoning as a result of her hip replacement surgery, however, it's believed he also borrowed from Robin's own hip replacement surgery as well.

R288 Rick's great. He mentioned that Cynthia Watros originally auditioned for Lucy Cooper on GL, so their characters would've been exes there and GH as well.
Sonia Satra, who played Lucy Cooper, first tried her hand at soaps by sending a letter with a picture of herself to the GH studios, prior to joining GL, suggesting that they cast her as Felicia's little sister; along with being a fan, people always told her that she resembled Kristina Wagner.

Sounds like they are killing off Rebecca Budig's character on B&B.
Can FV arrange for Hayden to come back to PC and claim her annoying daughter after her stint at B&B ends? She doesn't have to stay long. Just long enough to throw her daughter's belongings into a suitcase, thank Chase and BlazerLynn for their service, snark at Liz and Tracy, exchange pleasantries with Curtis and then head for the airport.
I'd actually like for Hayden to stay but there seems to be some issue with keeping Rebecca around. I don't know if it's money or she pissed FV off or if there was an issue with her being too close to married Michael Easton. With Michael gone, that only leaves money or FV doesn't like her as possible reasons for not keeping her around.
by Anonymous | reply 354 | September 23, 2024 2:07 AM |
Wow. They'd kill off Taylor Hayes?! What will we do without Taylor/Ridge/Brooke version 53?
by Anonymous | reply 355 | September 23, 2024 2:31 AM |
Why did they make Rebecca a new sister for Liz instead of the one they already previously established? She could’ve easily been Sarah Webber.

Probably because the first two Sarahs were horrific and they were cutting their losses.

Bree Williamson. Gina Tognoni. When Tamara Braun as Dr Sarah Weber would have better than Kim. Not sure why they never tried again with this character?! She has family on the canvas. She’s a doctor. For the most part she’s close to a blank slate. Hayden never made any sense.

Steven Lars Webber is out of prison and living in Sedona.
Either this line was to put to rest any hope of Steven's return or Frank ran into yet another out of work actor from a defunct soap at Whole Foods or Erewhon and is going to cast him in the role.

[quote]Either this line was to put to rest any hope of Steven's return or Frank ran into yet another out of work actor from a defunct soap at Whole Foods or Erewhon and is going to cast him in the role.
I've heard the show is facing severe budget cuts, up to 15%, but I have not gotten any confirmation. Maybe someone on here can confirm or deny. Apparently, the make-good rate for GH is way up, which has ticked off the network. They're looking at bringing back product placements. Everyone, except the big two, took either pay or guarantee cuts. LW took a minor pay cut but wouldn't budge on her guarantee. There were some questions about how long Jonathan Jackson would be back. Initially, it was being called a long-term return, but now long-term may not be long-term. There's some trouble on the set with his story. Jonathan doesn't like the scripts and wants rewrites; if he doesn't get them, he does it himself. They couldn't come to salary terms for the first actress they wanted as Lulu. Their first offer was $1500 an episode and wouldn't go higher than $2000.

Frank could save some money by not building these different bars and cafes every week. Yes, we have seen the Brown Dog before but we have the Metro Court bar...we have Bobbies....then there's Cafe Cherie, and then there's that beach side Cafe, and then there's that little closet with the hanging plants, and then there's Curtis's club. Scale down!
by Anonymous | reply 376 | September 24, 2024 12:31 AM |
I mean the difference in set decoration for most of the above venues is the color of the votive candle. I appreciate the effort in mixing up meet-up spots, but the aren’t exactly breaking the bank with those sets.

by Anonymous | reply 378 | September 24, 2024 1:15 AM |
R347 😁 if/when Tristan retires, pretty sure they'll have him walk off in the sunset with Holly.
Heather being framed by Portia seems to be the story, although Brad can always be revealed as the culprit.
by Anonymous | reply 379 | September 24, 2024 2:50 PM |
R349 Amazing choices. Jeff and Carolyn portrayed by Robert Newman and Kim Zimmer would've been pretty nice as well, except Frank can't really stand Kim. Kim, although semi-retired, would've probably been open to a short-term stint.
by Anonymous | reply 380 | September 24, 2024 2:57 PM |
R354 You really hit the nail on the head. It was a money issue, since she was terminated to pay for Steve Burton; she also became more than friends with Michael Easton. She's always mentioned wanting to return; Frank refuses to budge when it comes to Budig.
by Anonymous | reply 381 | September 24, 2024 3:01 PM |
R356 That's because Elizabeth and Rachel/Hayden were supposed to be twins; Naomi would've given birth to both, with Jeff raising Liz and Naomi raising Hayden. The story was changed to Liz having a half-sister.

by Anonymous | reply 387 | September 24, 2024 3:13 PM |
R373 I know he's more known for OLTL, but his stint on Y&R got pretty good reviews.
by Anonymous | reply 388 | September 24, 2024 3:17 PM |
R374 Correct. The network is still handing down budget cuts. At first, Laura Wright was exempt from the pay cut, until she eventually took one as well, as you mentioned. Finola Hughes was exempt at one point, though she took one before Wright. The two that you've referred to as the main 😁 😁 right, they're exempt. Jonathan signed a contract, though that can always be revised. What's interesting is that Frank kept asking him back, along with Julie Marie Berman, yet both of them refused. Genie and Steve were the ones who talked Jonathan into bringing Lucky home. Rewrites, via actors, are a common practice. Jennifer Landon is the actress you're referring to; she was Frank's first choice for Lulu; Frank wanted to capitalize on Michael Landon being her father, along with her acting resume. Jennifer refused their offer; Alexa Havins was their second choice.
by Anonymous | reply 389 | September 24, 2024 3:30 PM |
Frank "presumably" wanted to capitalize on Michael Landon being her father, since he's a fan of stunt casting, bringing any attention to the show. Eva La Rue is considered a "big get" to him; he's also being petty, for he was supposedly told to limit the OLTL casting, yet he's doubling down on casting AMC actors.
by Anonymous | reply 390 | September 24, 2024 3:36 PM |
R378 😁 😁 The writing has just been all over the place, in regards to the Lucky reintroductions. Fans seemed to favor the one where he ushered Jake back onto the canvas, during Luke's exit, although that was always intended to be just a Lucky visit.
by Anonymous | reply 391 | September 24, 2024 3:40 PM |
JJ will probably be back for 6-12 months and they've already wasted a month on him sitting in a corner with unwashed hair doing who knows what.
All time that could have been used for him reconnected with the people Lucky knows/loves.
by Anonymous | reply 392 | September 24, 2024 4:09 PM |
The Lucky being held in prison aspect of the story is ridiculous and going on far too long. But they're working overtime to make Lucky into his father's son by giving him Luke's personality. That's much better than having Lucky lying on the floor looking at a stray opioid pill that fell under the sofa like Guza did during JJ's last stint.
They seem to be dragging all this out so Genie can have her annual vacation, then return just in time for Lucky's rescue.
The thing I am enjoying most about the Lucky return plot is Sidwell. He's proving to be an intriguing character. If the show writes him properly, I can see him being a long term villain in Port Charles.
Other thing I am enjoying is the Jason-Anna pairing. The two work together very well. But Finola brings out the best in all her co-stars. Wonder if they're going to move this into a romance or just keep them platonic buddies.
by Anonymous | reply 393 | September 24, 2024 5:25 PM |

I hate to give Steve Burton clicks but I was curious about Charles Mesure. I was hoping he would be less fawning over LW but no such luck. He does also sing Finola's praises so I guess it's a wash. Also mentions JPS.
I knew he was on Desperate Housewives but didn't know he was on Xena. He started out wanting to be a lawyer.
He mentions in this interview, as he has in other interviews, that he's of a certain age now and has trouble memorizing lines. I've never been in show biz but is it a good idea for an actor to announce this?
I don't like his shirt. I do like his accent.

R393 Although Guza was planning to revisit Lucky's addiction issues, it was actually Garin Wolf who had Lucky staring at pills non-stop. Shelly Altman was brought in as co-head writer to help balance Garin out, since he patterned his writing style after old school storytelling. Lucky's dealer in that storyline, J.T. Dykstra, played by Gregory Michael Stipes, had family members of his trying their best to get a contract offered to him, including drumming up fan interest, even though he was scheduled to be short-term.
Sidwell is also turning out to be somewhat of a fan favorite.
Believe it or not, an Anna/Jason/Carly/Brennan quadrangle was considered. However, SB believes Carly and Jason are better off as friends, while the fraus aren't exactly receptive to the idea of Anna being involved with Jason, because of his history with Robin.

So, Kristina needs a lawyer and none of the local lawyers are available to her. Diane is representing Sonny, Alexis is in prison, Martin is representing Alexis and Ric is standing by Molly, so won't represent Kristina. And Scotty is off somewhere, likely getting fucked nonstop by a manslut.
So, without any local lawyers available, maybe Kristina will hire Nora Buchanan to come represent her. And while Nora is in Port Charles, she might run into her grandson, Isaiah Gannon.

If Chris Van Etten happens to do full on couple swaps, similarly to when he first started with Dan, back in 2019, would that pique your interest? Would you be willing to possibly start watching more if everything happens to be switched around? The fraus are really pissed off btw. They're not too receptive to the possibilities of change, but the changes are creating discussions about the show.

Jason and Anna were gross
by Anonymous | reply 430 | September 27, 2024 9:21 AM |
The show sucks. Lucky's return, boring. Lulu's legs, boring. Dex as cop, Joss as waitress, Sasha as cook, Cody as stable boy, boring. Laura's kids are front burner, but Genie is on vacation. Drew and Willow have no chemistry, Jason and Anna have the wrong chemistry, Jordan and Isiah are eye fucking 20 minutes after meeting, while he's bedridden. Kristina has come for Carly's cunt crown. Portia desperate, Trina MIA, Nina pointless, Gio POINTLESS, Chase wasted. And then there's caged heat Heather, continuing to shit on an iconic character.
I doubt even a Marcil return would get them back over 2 million viewers. Clean house and reset. BTG is almost upon us.

R430 Even though many knew this is where it was headed, the kiss was intended for shock value, though many are mentioning how grossed out they were by it as well. If it helps any, SB is more committed to any other potential pairing- outside of Jason and Carly.
R431 What's interesting is that everything you referenced aligns with the majority of viewers. Even the fraus are complaining; not particularly about Isaiah, Jordan, Trina, Portia, Stella, obviously, but they're thoroughly disappointed with the entire state of the show.

Well, this does explain why they brought back Brad, who has been missing for a year.
I thought it was odd that Brad was just there as a red herring for the changing of Heather's cobalt test results.
But if Lucas is coming back, Brad's return makes more sense. We never saw full resolution four years ago of how betrayed Lucas felt by the baby switch and Brad's deception.

Any chance Kimberly McCullough got herself an Ozempic prescription and is coming back to PC to surprise Anna only to catch her canoodling with her ex-boyfriend?
Robin on her way back is the only plausible explanation to that bizarre out of nowhere kiss.

Well, they managed to keep Van Hansis under wraps until now.
So, maybe Robin's return is also being kept quiet. Fingers crossed.

R447 Frank has an even firmer lockdown on spoilers now, including casting and storylines, which can lead to firing staffers who leak anything they're not supposed to spread. They also have a deal with Deadline to give them first dibs on casting info, which is why it was a blow for someone from Monaco's camp to leak her ouster, before the story went to Deadline.
Although Mulcahey has his faults, it was actually originally his idea to eventually bring Lucas back. Mulcahey also had a big coming out story for Aiden, including his boyfriend; Chris Van Etten and Dan O'Connor were planning to introduce the boyfriend, before they were fired. Back burning stories centered around gay characters were for the benefit of the fraus, however with ratings dropping, appeasing the fraus isn't exactly as much of a high priority as it used to be.
by Anonymous | reply 448 | September 27, 2024 8:48 PM |
R446 Kimberly isn't interested in returning, though that can always be subject to change. The kiss under dire circumstances was a way to initiate a reason for it to happen, since there have been moments where Anna and Jason were teased. Fan reaction to the kiss is lukewarm, but it's more about increasing ratings and no longer playing it safe.

by Anonymous | reply 452 | September 27, 2024 9:00 PM |
If Lucas is now on the show, that suggests Maura West's job is more secure.
Lucas' arrival gives Ava a relative on the canvas. Lucas is the biological son of Ava's brother Julian. So, that means a bit more job security for Maura.
Of course, the show never played the aunt-nephew angle when Ryan Carnes was in the role. But for that matter show never played the fact the Carly and Lulu are first cousins before either.
Times change. And so do HWs.

No to all of them r458 especially the only plausible one of BLQ/Dante. Why allow the actress to drag down another viable actor with her personal agenda? Now if TempBLQ was in the role I'd say yes definitely to BLQ/Dante pairing.
Should we prepare for a Deadline article soon announcing Josh Swickard's departure due to boredom and bullshit storylines? I can't believe they've trapped one of the few young handsome actors on the show into such dull storyline with no foreseeable end to the situation.
by Anonymous | reply 461 | September 27, 2024 9:31 PM |
They're on the verge of cancellation. I'm surprised they're going with mostly conventional storylines and pairings. At this point, they should go for controversy:
Pair Curtis up with Joss and/or Drew up with Joss if they want real dramatic storyline for Carly......and Lucas up with Gio - THAT would give Gio's character a purpose.
Lucky should fall back in love with Elizabeth bringing one of the better long-term storylines to a happy ending, especially because it's the original actors, and the ABC could end GH once and for all.
by Anonymous | reply 462 | September 27, 2024 9:34 PM |

R463 Lucky's return initially included co-parenting Aiden with Liz, not necessarily a reunion, since TPTB don't exactly want to focus on Liz, unless she's propping newer characters. However, Liz/Ric and Liz/Lucky are two of the most popular potential pairings currently on canvas.

Closeted Lucas dated Brook Lynn. Gio is their kid.
From the GH wiki: In 2002, Lucas is integrated into a group of younger characters which consist of his adoptive cousins, Maxie and Georgie. Lucas and Georgie even dated briefly in high school, and he took her to prom only for Maxie to ruin their date. Though they were not biologically related, neither pairing caught on with fans. Lucas later dated Brook Lynn Quartermaine while he supported Georgie during her troubled romance with Dillon Quartermaine.

The Jake actor didn’t leave for college. They just aren’t interested in writing for the character or anything involving Jason/Liz. They’re giving his initial story (Jake reconnecting with Jason) to Aiden and Lucky.

New Aiden definitely doesn't look like he's in high school. And definitely doesn't have that youthful innocence the previous one did.
But if you're going to play a gay youth storyline, maybe you need to have a slightly older actor to play the all the nuances of such a storyline. Somebody with a little maturity.
Essentially its the same thing that happened when ATWT decided to make Luke Snyder gay. Cast an older actor with a bit more life experience -- Kim Zimmer's 15 year old son, Jake Weary, had been in the part, but then they recast with a 25 year old Van Hansis.
And now that Van is part of the GH cast, maybe he can give this new actor some tips on how to play it effectively.

Speaking of Molly 3.0, Kristen Vaganos is on contract now so she had to kiss the ring and go on Mo's show yesterday. Not going to link as I don't want to give him easy views. I watched because I like her and was curious who she would mention. She only mentioned loving NLG and how NLG bristles at some of the dialogue, something to do with the Meisner method.
She doesn't have any mental health problems and comes from a healthy, loving Greek family so that didn't give Mo much to work with, lol. She didn't even try to exaggerate some small problem to appease him like some do.
She's very likeable and confident, she produces on the side. She has some great uncle that was canonized in Greek religion or something like that. They didn't even discuss how she got GH. Mo was too busy talking about his fear of flying, his breakdowns, his first scene with her when Molly yelled at him was while he was having his most recent breakdown. Also, the breakdown he had three weeks after he got the role of Sonny and how awful he was to those around him. Again, no apology for his awfulness back then.
They've only had two scenes together (second one coming up soon) but of course she did the requisite thanking him for his mentorship. 🤮

It's a shame they can't have legacy families with all their children around and with storylines.
Laura's getting two of her three kids back but Liz only has one of her three.
No Dillon Quartermaine or Lila Rae or Emma Drake or Serena Baldwin. Who else am I missing?
But we get Cody, Sasha, Gio and Violet that no one is invested in.

Lucy also has a a daughter named Christina from her time on Port Charles. Think the daughter is adopted. Not sure if Kevin or Scotty is the adopted father.
Obviously, if they ever decided to bring her to GH, they'd have to use a nickname for her since the Christina name is already taken on GH.

R508 Tristan Riggs made his debut as a recast Aiden in May. Giovanni Mazza was considered as Aiden; Mark Teschner felt that he wasn't quite right for the role, but he felt there was something special about Giovanni, so Frank told him to test him anyway. Frank was so impressed with him, that instead of a throwaway role as one of Jake's friends, Frank, Korte and Mulcahey introduced Giovanni Cerullo, then changed to Giovanni Palmieri.
by Anonymous | reply 522 | September 30, 2024 7:03 PM |
Soon to be Giovanni Jones or Giovanni Falconeri?
by Anonymous | reply 523 | September 30, 2024 7:05 PM |
R508 Hudson West has other projects he's working on, but essentially he was written out as R509 referenced, because Korte didn't want to write for him, seeing how he's Elizabeth and Jason's son. There was a storyline idea where Jake would've suffered from brain damage, pushing Elizabeth away and bonding with Jason and Carly, after being injured while protecting Danny, but it never came into fruition. Mulcahey wanted to write for Elizabeth and Jake, even if included recasting Jake (SB's son was even mentioned as a recast) but Korte doesn't want Jake on canvas, so the Jason/Jake bonding story is going to Lucky/Aiden.

When Ron brought Lucy back to the show in late 2012, there were a handful of references to her daughter Christina coming back to town soon. I think Lucy and Scotty were the adopted parents.
Didn't Kevin also get a daughter or two while on Port Charles? I watched the first year or so of Port Charles, then gave up on it. So, I'm not sure about what all happened over there.

R514 Tristan Riggs' Aiden came out to Laura, with Liz present, but those scenes never made the light of day. You're thinking of Enzo De Angelis, who portrayed Aiden when he came out to Liz in December. Enzo quit after his family decided they didn't want him playing a gay character.

R516 Also bears closer of a resemblance to Jonathan than previous Aiden actor Tristan Riggs.
by Anonymous | reply 530 | September 30, 2024 7:28 PM |
They obviously need an Aiden actor old enough to make his own decisions and not a minor with MAGAT parents shrieking about the storyline or in high school and susceptible to bullying.
by Anonymous | reply 531 | September 30, 2024 7:29 PM |
R522 Giovanni was not considered for Aiden. He was considered for a friend of Jake’s.
And Enzo is the one who filmed the coming out scenes with Genie and Becky. They were cut.
by Anonymous | reply 532 | September 30, 2024 7:37 PM |
R520, Kin Shriner mentioned on Twitter months ago that Christina is only considered Port Charles canon not GH.
by Anonymous | reply 533 | September 30, 2024 7:38 PM |
At this point let’s bring on Serena’s kids instead of another 50 year old but would love some Lucy family on canvas.
I think Lila alcazar is in the Austin gatlin holt category. Who would care that she’s around?
Dillon belongs on screen.

R534 Right Enzo filmed the scenes where Aiden came out to Laura with Liz present; I've actually mentioned that here several times. Becky and Genie even confirmed this at Nancy's event.
Giovanni was considered for Aiden originally, then a friend of Jake's, before cast as Giovanni, when they were looking for roughly a fifteen year old to play Aiden. He started working two weeks after Tristan Riggs. Similarly to how Adam J. Harrington was originally slated for Brennan, except Teschner felt that he was better suited for another role.

That was actually intended for R532 at R535. Its been a long day 😃
by Anonymous | reply 536 | September 30, 2024 8:42 PM |
R520 You're referring to Christina Collins, Lucy and Kevin's daughter. She actually did have a nickname when Ron decided to bring her onboard, C.C., since Kristina Corinthos, then Lindsey Morgan, was there. Kristen Deane was rumored as C.C., with Tyler Peterson also rumored as Trevor, C.C.'s boyfriend. Frank approved Ron's Port Charles arc, but didn't move forward with C.C. Rafe Kovich, Jr. pretty much continued the legacy of Port Charles; actor Jimmy Deshler also dated Haley Pullos for awhile. Haley preferred Molly and Rafe over Molly and TJ back then- when played by Tequan Richmond.
by Anonymous | reply 537 | September 30, 2024 9:08 PM |
R521 Correct. Frank ultimately vetoed Christina and her boyfriend.
by Anonymous | reply 538 | September 30, 2024 9:11 PM |
R523 Giovanni Quartermaine and Giovanni Corinthos were other possibilities awhile ago.

R526 MW is safe now. No it wasn't a ruse; in order to make even more budget cuts, especially to bring any vets back, they were going to fire her. Frank proposed firing Kelly Monaco instead.
by Anonymous | reply 540 | September 30, 2024 9:24 PM |
I think Gio Jones would be the more interesting storyline and not the same old long lost kid trope.
Added bonus: He would be related to Snarly Jr. and can't be paired with her.

R528 Right Kevin had a daughter, Livvie Locke, Kelly Monaco's character; Rachel Locke was her mother, Kimberlin Brown, if I'm not mistaken, was the only Rachel. When they were considering Sam's father on GH, Ron wanted to play up the Port Charles angle with Ryan or Kevin as Sam's father, but Frank wanted Julian, so Ron had to go that route.
by Anonymous | reply 545 | September 30, 2024 9:36 PM |
Speaking of Port Charles, Kelly Monaco has the distinction, out of an assumingly small pool of actors, portraying double characters simultaneously on two different soaps; Livvie Locke and Tess Ramsey on Port Charles/Sam McCall and Alicia Montenegro on GH.

R531 Bingo
by Anonymous | reply 547 | September 30, 2024 10:02 PM |
Kelly’s firing came from higher than Frank. She ran her mouth and they’d finally had enough. Kelly deleted her IG post and has mommy Carmina is speaking for her which is just… weird.
by Anonymous | reply 548 | September 30, 2024 10:06 PM |
Mommy Carmina speaking for her is very odd and juvenile. I say this as an Italian whose late "Ma" was also very enthusiastic about my life and had to be "managed". Manage your mother, Kelly!
by Anonymous | reply 549 | September 30, 2024 10:30 PM |
R548 Frank wanted Kelly fired six to seven years ago. He had pushback up until now. The network decided to go through with it only after he threw her under the bus for MW. The executives in charge now weren't as keen on keeping her employed as their predecessors were, which famously started with one of her biggest fans, Brian Frons.
by Anonymous | reply 550 | September 30, 2024 10:55 PM |
R549 Carmina is managing Kelly 😆 😆

Well, with Brad, NuAiden, and NuLucas, Port Charles is becoming gayer by the minute. Throw in Terry, Ms. Hofer, and Giolin, I can see a fun night at the local gay bar.

I want a Serena Baldwin who sticks around long term! Recast!!!
I don’t get the MW needs to go to save money and then it’s KM who gets the axe….why wasn’t CW in the mix? Nina is the most pointless of the three characters. I’d even say NLG would have been part of the who should go to save money discussion….and some males especially CM / pointless Drew…
by Anonymous | reply 561 | October 1, 2024 2:48 AM |
NLG's threat of releasing the book she wrote is what keeps her employed.
I can't imagine she's very popular with TPTB given her threats.
by Anonymous | reply 562 | October 1, 2024 2:57 AM |
CW's Nina may have been safe since the character has familial ties. Daughter, grandchildren, son in law, nephew, aunt who may still pop in and presumed dead daughter who may be resurrected at any time and create even more storylines. Also, three ex-husbands and a current fuck buddy.
Ava doesn't have any adult children to have storylines with, just a young child who is rarely seen. No brother, no husband/ex-husband, no boyfriend. Just a friendship with a college age girl. I might understand the overly closely relationship with Trina if Trina was troubled or came from a troubled family. But she's not troubled and comes from an upper middle class, tight knit family with tons of support and love.
by Anonymous | reply 563 | October 1, 2024 3:10 AM |
KM is a skank.
by Anonymous | reply 564 | October 1, 2024 3:18 AM |
It’s interesting, R563; from a story perspective, the show doesn’t need both Nina *and* Ava—they fill a similar niche. But both actresses are so good it would be a shame to lose either of them.
by Anonymous | reply 565 | October 1, 2024 3:46 AM |
I don't mind the Aiden recast if this means he can now get an actual storyline. Would be nice to see him with an on-screen boyfriend, whether that's Tobias or someone else. I do admit he does look a lot older though. I saw someone suggest Lucas be a mentor to him, that would be nice.

I noticed today is actress Crystal Bernard's Birthday. Did we ever find out exactly what happened to sister Robyn Bernard? (the circumstances of her death and life leading up to it).
Really tragic.
by Anonymous | reply 567 | October 1, 2024 5:06 AM |
I agree both are great actresses but Nina’s ties are forced and meaningless. Willow can leave too…especially in comparison to Sam’s ties. CW is a great actress. Yet she’s playing a character we never needed from the start.
KM and Sam like her or hate her is a vet. Plus one half of a super couple in Jasam. They fill very much have their fans and even if they never reunited there were still story beats to hit. Her exit feels rushed. If they actually wrote a real exit story I’d be more accepting.
Alexis feels played out. Without a real love interest. NLG being problematic and of a certain over crowded age group. Her unwillingness to play Cassadine stories….her social media presence….thats who I would have fired.
I agree MW and Ava could go but she’s a huge asset being a complicated villain who drives story played by one of the shows best!

R567. She was homeless living in that field she was found in. Not a good area and the weather that March morning was quite cold. Her mobile home burned down months before that.

R552 Would you prefer Giovanni bisexual or sexually fluid? Giovanni coming out as fully gay would be pretty interesting.
by Anonymous | reply 570 | October 1, 2024 5:44 AM |
R553 This should soften the blow somewhat when the show received backlash from LGBTQ fans, primarily lesbians, who were upset about Kraze coming to a conclusion, while Blaze's homophobic mother was allowed to stay in town. Kate Mansi also wants to explore more of Kristina's bisexuality; with both her and Eva La Rue having a hard enough time of winning fans over as it is, being blamed for a lack of LGBTQ characters isn't exactly good, especially when viewership is eroding rapidly.
by Anonymous | reply 571 | October 1, 2024 6:03 AM |
R555 Felix is a good time. Adding in his sister Taylor with a redux of Molly/TJ/Taylor/Rafe, substituting Rafe for Dex would be fun, provided Taylor is still somewhat of a troublemaker, but that's primarily wishful thinking.

R561 When there were rumored cast cutting measures taking place, both Nina and Drew were mentioned. This was before Mulcahey was brought on board; he wanted to write specifically for both Nina and Drew. Pay cuts essentially prevented a huge cast erosion, though certain actors obviously weren't able to stay employed. Nina and Drew have more ties to the canvas than Ava, so they weren't exactly deemed as isolated as Ava.

R568 Frank personally wanted Kelly Monaco fired, that's why it feels forced, since it was basically unexpected. Although, she was rumored to be on the chopping block shortly before the actual firing occurred, on August 22nd. Frank managed to kill two birds with one stone; Monaco's exit along with Mansi's ascension as the primary daughter in the Davis household.
by Anonymous | reply 578 | October 1, 2024 6:34 AM |
R568 NLG actually considered walking off when Frank lowballed her during contract renegotiations awhile ago, before they were able to resolve the issue. Frank wants her off the show as well, but the network would have to sign off on it. It was easier for them to fire Monaco, especially since Frank is somewhat of a snitch.
by Anonymous | reply 579 | October 1, 2024 6:38 AM |
Frank is also primarily the reason why the Spencer recast was kaput. The Sprina fans pissed him off with their complaints so he decided to not proceed with the recast. The network wanted NAC back, of course, but when he refused to re-sign his contract for another year, the network decided to terminate his contract, which only had six weeks or so left. Mulcahey wanted to recast but Frank was firmly against doing so; the network could always override Frank, though they were pissed that the show allowed NAC to walk. Saddling him with a baby in the form of his little brother wasn't exactly pleasing to the network either.
by Anonymous | reply 580 | October 1, 2024 6:45 AM |
R570 .either way is fine with me, although “sexually fluid” would both feel contemporary and leave more options open for the future.
by Anonymous | reply 581 | October 1, 2024 8:18 AM |
The frau brigade will never stand for NuLucas, Aiden or Gayovanni thriving in front burner stories. They pretty much forced the end of Kraze, and Teri's romance with the hot bodyguard. Lucas will be revealed as Gio's dad, and both will be gone in 6 months. Aiden will join his dad in Africa (or wherever) when JJ decides to leave again.

R582 That's true, both Kraze and Terry's burgeoning relationship were both met with disdain by the fraus. However, practically everything that's taking place now is pretty much in spite of the fraus. The fraus also don't want Willow with Drew, they don't want any inkling of a relationship between Anna and Jason, they don't want anything deemed out of the ordinary, etc. The ratings are suffering while continuing to showcase the same format; the fraus were the "lapsed viewers" that the network wanted to retain so badly, yet that has proved disastrous.
